My services
Individual Therapy for Teens
I support teens in finding different ways express themselves and finding words to describe what may be overwhelming thoughts and feelings. I utilize expressive art activities, sand tray, board games and talk therapy. I support teens in improving their communication with parents and friends and when applicable with teachers or administrators.
Family Therapy and Parent Coaching
Family Therapy and Parent Coaching can be offered as a stand alone support or in addition to Individual Therapy with a child or teen. Youth can sometimes need support with naming or talking about different things directly with their parents. Often they already know what it is they want to say. I support children and teens with being able to share and parents with being able to listen in ways that support more talking about difficult content or feelings.
Individual Therapy with Adults
Want to have enough capacity to manage external stressors? Want to develop your ability to be more in the moment instead of dwelling on the past or thinking about the future? I utilize relational and client centered therapy to support adults with managing symptoms that are getting in the way of being fully and authentically present.
EMDR*
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing* (EMDR) is a well-researched treatment modality that uses bilateral movements (i.e., tapping or eye movements) to support with processing memories that have historically been disturbing. EMDR can be used to support reducing distress with memories related to bullying, trauma, anxiety, historical learning difficulties, etc. Clients generally report that the memories feel less overwhelming or disturbing after processing them using EMDR.
“I didn’t realize how much that memory was weighing on me. EMDR helped me feel more relaxed in my body. The memory is still painful but now I understand how it relates to my current stress.”
